Welcome back to another school year! During the first trimester, the youngest BH students learned proper book care rules and how to use shelf markers to return books to the right place. We also reviewed our library rules and expectations for the school year. Students in Grades 2-5 were introduced to the 2019 Nutmeg Nominees and are looking forward to the chance to vote for their favorites in April. Children also learned how to access and use our online catalog, Destiny, to search for their favorite titles and topics.
I am looking forward to a wonderful year in our Library Learning Commons with your children. Together we will research, learn about digital citizenship and online safety, explore digital tools, and appreciate the wonderful stories in our collection. Your child will bring home at least one book a week (kindergarten and first grade students will check out one book at a time, and second through fifth graders may check out two books at a time).
